Selected from about five local government areas around Maiduguri, the participants were drilled by officials from the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on the kind of message they needed to pass across to members of their communities especially on the issue of polio vaccination.

These announcers are to from time to go round the focal communities to sensitise people on programmes like polio vaccination and other related child killer ailments.

The trainer from NOA, Mr Aliyu Zaifada urged the newly trained town announcers to carry on with their responsibility with serious commitment even as he urged them to consider their service as sacrifice for humanity and community.

He said they have to be prepared to embark on house to house sensitisation especially on the dangers of polio on towards the health of children that are not immunised.
